Jersey General Hospital - Kitchen Servery
The existing Kitchen servery and back kitchens were in need of modernisation to address the redundant services and infection control issues. The new works included a new front servery and replacement kitchens and staff facilities.
The initial project brief was to provide a new satellite kitchen for regenerating food prepared off site as part of the new hospital strategy. The scheme eventually grew following delays to the main hospital project to provide a larger back kitchen and relocate the private Sorel Ward kitchen onto the same level. The refurbishment of the new front servery and the provision of staff changing and accessible toilet provision was also provided.
The project was undertaken in a controlled manner to minimise disruption to the existing café and loss of revenue. A temporary café area was set up for the sale of cold food and beverages before the new area was completed.
